1) Pitcher

A pitcher is a field position usually occupied by one player on a cricket team. A player who occupies such a position is known as a pitcher. The objective of each team’s pitcher is to pitch (bowl) against their opponents’ batsmen and thereby dismiss them from hitting an innings-ending run, known as a wicket. 6) Catcher

You don’t want to find yourself scrambling after an injury or illness takes out your starting catcher with no backup. The most common way of playing with multiple catchers is having three on your team, which means you will need four cricketers on your squad for them all to get playing time.
